What are your fees? For Counselling & Psychotherapy, my usual fee is £100 for a 50 mins session which usually takes place weekly, and can be negotiated up to £130 per session which usually applies when the cost is covered by an insurance company where I have to consider their charges. I also offer extended sessions (eg. 90 mins or 2hrs) if you wish to explore an issue in an one-off instance or if you are going through a timely-bound dilemma or situation and require extended time of support at a given time; these are charged pro rata. If you are a counsellor/psychotherapist in training or someone on low income, please get in touch to explore negotiating a reduced fee that would enable us to work together at this moment in time. For clinical supervision, my fees start from £80 per hour for individual supervision. I also offer Group Supervision for therapists in training or qualified therapists and the fee is dependent on group size, session duration and setting. If you are looking to contract with a supervisor for practitioners in your organisation, please contact me to discuss a tailored fee agreement. I offer concessional rates for counsellors/psychotherapists in training OR those who are newly qualified and are just starting up, please enquire to discuss your needs. For all other services (consultations regarding student mentoring, doctoral supervision, CPD, public speaking, seminars & workshops), please inquire specifying your requirements & needs. A fee will be tailored accordingly, once I know the specifics of what you are looking for.

Connecting remotely: what do I need to know about using video or phone for sessions? You can choose to connect with me 'live' for therapy or supervision sessions, either using a web-cam or using the phone. For research supervision, it is likely we will also use email so that i can send you feedback on your writing. For online web-cam sessions, I use different platforms such as Zoom, VSee, or MS Teams and frequent users usually have a preference - if less familiar, I can send you instructions. All you need to have is the following: - A device: mobile phone, tablet, laptop, PC or Mac - A good interned connection - Headphones (for privacy and more clarity) When working remotely, it is important that we are both in a private and secure space, somewhere where you can be relaxed that you will not be overheard and where disruptions are less likely to happen. If your privacy is compromised by family circumstances or having young children, we can discuss ways towards making the most of our communication.

What is your Ethical Code? Is your Service confidential? To ensure good quality of practice, I discuss my work in supervision, but this is done anonymously, and it is for the purpose of my own reflexivity and ethical decision making during our time together. I abide by the Ethical Framework by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). Counselling is confidential, with the following exceptions, when I may need to consult with a third party, in most cases with your consent: - when there is a risk to yourself or others - when i am required to break confidentiality by law

What is your cancellation policy?I appreciate that there may be emergencies or planned holidays that may bring a level of disruption or a break from our work together. I anticipate that you will notify me about any changes to our scheduled sessions as soon as possible and my commitment to you is to do the same. If you request to cancel an appointment with less than 48hrs notice, the full fee will be charged for the missed session. If circumstances out of my control result in a cancellation on my part, I will do my best to schedule a new appointment at a mutually convenient time.

I want to study Counselling/Psychotherapy and not sure what route to take, what resources can you recommend? There are different routes to gaining qualifications in counselling/psychotherapy and various modalities one could choose to study. Also, there are different professional bodies with different requirements. Having taught on different courses, I am able to consult on the pros and cons of each route and make recommendations on programmes you may wish to consider. Please get in touch to request a consultation with such focus, this service involves a live online session, followed by an email where I will be summarising the info that we identify as best matching your aspirations. If you are a current student on a Counselling/Psychotherapy/Counselling Psychology course and you are struggling with your studies, the first point of contact is your academic tutor(s) where you attend your training who may be able to guide you themselves or they may signpost to relevant in-house study-support services. As a general resource for effective studying, I recommend the You Tube Channel by my colleague Dr Paul Penn on The Psychology of Effective Studying and his book with the same title.

I struggle with completing my Doctoral/PhD thesis, how can you help?Studying for a Prof Doc or a PhD in Counselling, Psychotherapy or Counselling Psychology is a consuming, often emotionally demanding, long-term commitment. During my own doctoral years and later during my employment as an academic, i have heard of numerous stories where a doctoral student either did not find adequate support towards their studies or they did not make a 'good match' with their allocated research supervisor or they needed additional supervision by someone knowledgeable on their specific topic or life/a personal crisis got on the way, disrupting the process. I have been very fortunate to have received excellent research supervision input during my own journey and have supported numerous students towards not only completing but actually loving their research topic and discovering their voice in the writing process. Our initial session would focus on discovering whether my knowledge and experience makes a suitable fit for your specific topic and research process needs. The fee for 'live' research supervision sessions will be negotiated depending on your needs. We can also discuss about the cost for offering specific feedback on your writing (i.e. commenting on content, strength of argument, proof-reading, editing and so on) which is subject to factors such as the length of chapters you send me, the quality of your writing and level of input required. Disclaimer - to avoid conflict of interests, i cannot provide this service to current students at the University of East London (UEL) who is my current employer. If you aren’t a UEL student and we decide to collaborate towards completing your project, my service assumes you are familiar with and abiding by the Academic Integrity Policy of your training provider and I hold no responsibility for plagiarism or other breaches that may be identified in your submission. Also, by working with me, you agree that you are and will remain the author of your work until its completion.
