Frequently asked questions
For Counselling & Psychotherapy, the fee is negotiated during our free intro call, considering a sliding scale, based on your current circumstances (please inform me if you are supported by an insurance company). If you are a counsellor/psychotherapist in training or someone on low income, please get in touch to explore negotiating a reduced fee that would enable us to work together at this moment in time. I also collaborate with a network of fellow therapists, in case a suitable referral proves more beneficial for you.
For clinical supervision for qualified practitioners, my fees start from £80 per hour for individual supervision. I also offer Group Supervision for therapists in training or qualified therapists and the fee is dependent on group size, session duration and setting. If you are looking to contract with a supervisor for practitioners in your organisation, please contact me to discuss a tailored fee agreement. I offer concessional rates for trainees OR those who are newly qualified and are just starting up, please enquire to discuss your needs.
For all other services (consultations regarding student mentoring, doctoral supervision, CPD, public speaking, seminars & workshops), please inquire specifying your requirements & needs. A fee will be tailored accordingly, once I know the specifics of what you are looking for.
Sessions usually take place weekly or bi-weekly after a course of frequent therapy. I also offer extended sessions (eg. 90 mins or 2hrs) if you wish to explore an issue in an one-off instance or if you are going through a timely-bound dilemma or situation and require extended time of support at a given time; these are charged pro rata.
You can choose to connect with me 'live' for therapy or supervision sessions, either using a web-cam or using the phone. For research supervision, it is likely we will also use email so that i can send you feedback on your writing.
For online web-cam sessions, I use different platforms such as Zoom, VSee, or MS Teams and frequent users usually have a preference - if less familiar, I can send you instructions. All you need to have is the following:
- A device: mobile phone, tablet, laptop, PC or Mac
- A good interned connection
- Headphones (for privacy and more clarity)
When working remotely, it is important that we are both in a private and secure space, somewhere where you can be relaxed that you will not be overheard and where disruptions are less likely to happen. If your privacy is compromised by family circumstances or having young children, we can discuss ways towards making the most of our communication.
To ensure good quality of practice, I discuss my work in supervision, but this is done anonymously, and it is for the purpose of my own reflexivity and ethical decision making during our time together. I abide by the Ethical Framework by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
Counselling is confidential, with the following exceptions, when I may need to consult with a third party, in most cases with your consent:
- when there is a risk to yourself or others
- when i am required to break confidentiality by law
I appreciate that there may be emergencies or planned holidays that may bring a level of disruption or a break from our work together. I anticipate that you will notify me about any changes to our scheduled sessions as soon as possible and my commitment to you is to do the same. If you request to cancel an appointment with less than 48hrs notice, the full fee will be charged for the missed session. If circumstances out of my control result in a cancellation on my part, I will do my best to schedule a new appointment at a mutually convenient time.
